Happy Wednesday! Half way through the week, yay! I hope y'all are having a great week so far. Today I wanted to share with you my favorite face washes. Now, here's my disclaimer: I do not have perfect skin! I have the unpredicted hormonal break outs and I have some scars from past breakouts. That being said, these face washes are amazingly gentle and yet cleansing enough for my skin. I have combination skin; my T-zone gets very oily while my chin can get dry. So with all that in mind, here are my top go-to face cleansers!
Aveeno Clear Complexion
This has been my favorite face wash for the past four years! Like, no joke, this baby has had a spot in my home for a long time. It is a foaming face cleanser so it is very gentle. It does not have a typical soapy feeling. It's very moisturizing and yet strong enough to get all my make-up off at the end of the day. Many nights I only use this (with no make-up wipes) and my face still feels 100% clean! This face cleanser does have salicylic acid to help treat acne but it is such a small amount that it is not over-drying or irritating. It is safe to say that this is by far the best face cleanser I have ever used!
Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Cleanser
This face cleanser comes as a close second to the Aveeno! I have used this cleanser for about two months and it is a good one! I love the Neutrogena Naturals line of products because they don't have harsh chemicals. This cleanser, like the Aveeno, is strong enough to remove my make up at the end of the day without the use of wipes. Although it claims to be unscented, I find this cleanser to have an apple-like scent. I'm not complaining, it smells good! But some folk may not enjoy it. The only less than perfect point I have about this face wash is that it has a more soapy texture which, if it gets in your eyes, can burn a bit. Otherwise, overall I do find this face wash to be very cleansing yet gentle, especially for my sensitive skin.
Yes to Grapefruit Daily Scrub
I have tried many scrubs in the past five years and this one is definitely a winner! I love using scrubs because as I mentioned before, I have scarring from previous bad breakouts, and I try to keep my complexion as even as possible. I love this scrub because it feels like a scrub! Too often I find scrubs to not have enough well, scrub, to them! I don't want anything too harsh but I like to feel like the dead skin is exfoliated. The ingredients in this scrub are a plus too! It does not contain harsh chemicals and is parabens-free. Additionally, this scrub lasts such a long time! It takes such a small amount to work into your skin so I don't have to re-purchase it often.
Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser and Mask
This product doubles as a cleanser and a mask. I have used this as a cleanser but I prefer it as a mask. It's a very creamy product and I don't typically like cream cleansers. As a mask however, it is very hydrating yet it gives my skin a slippery, clean feeling once I wash it off. I use this as a mask about once or twice a week, depending on how calm my skin is. When using this as a mask, I usually leave it on for about 10-15 minutes. It does not dry out my skin one bit! Even when "dry" enough to wash off, it still feels so moist! I feel like this product does a great job at handling my combination skin as it claims to "reduce shine." I do not like shine on my face, I definitely prefer a more matte look. This mask helps to keep my skin more even looking. This is a great mask that I plan on re-purchasing!
Well I hope y'all enjoyed my little review of these face washes! Let me know what you think and have a wonderful rest of the week!
