New Year's Eve Smokey Eye

Hello loves! I hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends! Ours was so great and relaxing; I wish we could have stayed longer! Now, of course, New Year's Eve is here! My boyfriend and I are not going out dancing all night to celebrate; instead we are going out for a nice dinner and then coming home and sharing a bottle of champagne while watching movies. I am really looking forward to our NYE/date night :-)

However, it's still fun to feel festive and NYE is the perfect time to embrace it! I created a fun, smokey black and gold eye look that is perfect for ringing in the new year. Unfortunately I do not have a good camera to actually record a tutorial (I plan on buying one though!) so I have pictures showing step-by-step how I created this look along with all the products used! I hope you find this look as fun and sexy as I do!

So here is the before! All I have done is my foundation and eyebrows. Since I am using very smokey colors, I wanted to wait to do my under-eye concealer in case there was any fall out. That way I didn't make a big mess!

I am going to be using my Naked 3 palette because I think it has great, blend-able colors for a shimmery, yet smokey eye!

Here, below, I have blended BURNOUT on the outer corner and crease of my eye. This is a soft pink that will be a great blending base for the rest of our smokey eye.

Next, I've blended MUGSHOT over the BURNOUT to deepen the crease.

I then used a bit of FACTORY (seen above) just on the outer corner to deepen the shadow. Then I used TRICK (seen below) all over the crease and the lid.

(You can see this palette has gotten a lot of love! I've had it over a year now...)

Next, I took BLACKHEART (seen in above picture, located at the very end of the palette) and packed it all over my lid. This is a beautiful dark, almost black, color with flakes of rose gold shimmer. So gorgeous!

After packing on the BLACKHEART I went back with a little bit of FACTORY to blend everything together. I then created a very dramatic wing with a black felt-tip liner. I wanted to do a dramatic wing but you certainly don't have to! A more simple winged liner or even a smokey-liner (created by using a pencil liner and then blending the color up) would look great too!

I took some of the FACTORY and TRICK along my bottom lash line and blended it out. I then took STILETTO from the Too Faced Naked Eye palette and lined the outer half of my bottom lash line. I also took a mix of FRESH LINEN and VELVETEEN BUNNY from the Too Faced Matte Eye palette and highlighted the inner corner of my eye and under my brow bone. Afterwards, I did my under-eye concealer:

I used some Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara and viola! The final product!

Here is the list of products I used to achieve this whole look:

They no longer carry this exact palette so I've linked to the newer version and although it does not have the exact shade I used, you can use any dark black for the lower lash line.

I hope y'all have a wonderfully fun and safe NYE! Happy New Year!

With Love, Hannah Marie
